<p>When such a high percentage of the people are overweight it seems fitting that there is significant number of the population who are extremely image conscious. Perhaps this is in part to those health magazine covers with men and women who have desirable, health and fit looking bodies. As a result, gyms, health spas and other fitness centers have proliferated all over to cater to the needs of the fitness and body conscious enthusiasts.</p>
<p>Although to be honest, trying to avoid the subject is not easy with amount of advertising that goes on to promote diet fitness. But on the flip side of that coin is the importance of heating healthily and maintaining a weight to suit our size and shape. It is the food we eat in our diet and fitness program that will encourage a healthy body, as exercise will not restore damaged muscles or keep you healthy. What does not help the average person is what diet-fitness regime to follow as both seem to make sense; there is the one that says eat foods with high carbohydrate levels and the other which says you need to eat foods with a high fat content which appears to contradict everything we are told about dieting.</p>
<p>To understand this better you need to know that the high-carbohydrate followers believe that you need to eat foods rich in carbohydrates to exercise well and the opposition believe you need to consume foods high in fat. Those followers of eating foods with high carbohydrate content believe these are best owing to the amount of energy that can be stored in the muscles ready for instant release.</p>
<p>Whereas, fat is a rich source of calories with two and a half times more than proteins and carbohydrates while fat metabolizes in an eighth of the time it does for carbohydrates. However, whichever diet you use may depend on the type of activity you perform as well but the two diets are not to be mixed up unless you want to add extra pounds to your body mass.</p>
<p>All this is fine if you are exercising regularly but a diet fitness regime is also about reducing the body fat. <p>Fast-track diets are one of these rapid weight loss practices which may not be as inviting as they seem according to research. As the old saying goes the easier it comes, the easier it goes and this is especially relevant for rapid weight loss programs.</p>
<p>The research shows that people that are on these special low calorie / carbohydrate diets become bored with them which is quite natural and end up going back to their old eating habits quite quickly. Now research is showing that rapid weight loss is probably more attributable to body water loss and not body fat that the diet companies would have you believe.</p>

<p>According to the marketing, wearing the magnets improves the magnetic balance of the wearer and they can expect to benefit from all the effects mentioned previously. It all sounds very scientific but to date no studies or research of any kind has been carried out or published in any medical journals.</p>
<p>Another tactic to obtaining that ideal weight is a colon cleanse.  Colon cleansing not only helps you lose weight, but it rids your body of toxins and mucoid buildup along the colon and intestinal walls.</p>
<p>Bottom line is no pain, no gain, if a person wants a beautiful body, they must work for it and as for those rapid weight loss products coming out on the market, if they sound too good to be true, they probably are.</p>

<p>The overall weight of a proportion of Western countries citizens may be rising significantly but the pursuit of health and fitness products and programs seems to be following suit. This may be because we are bombarded with images of men and women who are attractive and obviously very fit, that make us feel a little inadequate. Consequently gyms, health spas, fitness clubs and equipment manufacturers are all doing very well with what everyone hopes is not just another fashion.</p>
<p>It is not as if you can get away from it as the advertising for diet and fitness equipment is also on the television as well. But on the flip side of that coin is the importance of heating healthily and maintaining a weight to suit our size and shape. Our diet and our fitness are two halves of the same coin and need to be worked together as it is the food we consume that will determine how quickly we can repair cells and tired parts of our body. What does not help the average person is what diet-fitness regime to follow as both seem to make sense; there is the one that says eat foods with high carbohydrate levels and the other which says you need to eat foods with a high fat content which appears to contradict everything we are told about dieting.</p>
<p>What makes this confusing for the amateur is that one side says that you are better of eating foods high in fat when you exercise and the others state you need to eat foods that are a good source of carbohydrates. The high-carb enthusiasts say that we need these sorts of foods because the glucose (or energy) is stored in the muscles and liver in the form of glycogen which is great for short burst of energy or any type of anaerobic exercise.</p>
<p>Fats, on the other hand, are well-known for being the richest source of calories and fat actually contains 2. However, whichever diet you use may depend on the type of activity you perform as well but the two diets are not to be mixed up unless you want to add extra pounds to your body mass.</p>
<p>The main factor to consider is that if you are just following a diet and fitness lifestyle then the last thing you want is too add extra pounds of unwanted fat. Research shows that sustainable loss of weight can only be achieved on a diet which suits the individual food preferences, lifestyle and medical profile.</p>
<p>Part of a healthy diet is a colon cleanse diet.  There are many types of recipes and diets out there, but, as with a weight loss diet, consists of raw fruits and vegetables and lots of liquids.  Colon cleansing diets are designed to expel harmful toxins and chemicals from the body, resulting in weight loss, increased energy, and a stronger immune system.</p>
<p>Diet programs all over can help you shed off excess pounds, but only one diet can help you stay sexy, and it is the one that satisfies you most but other important aspects of having a fit diet are moderation, balance and variation. Having made that point, it is only fair to say that as part of a healthy diet, certain vitamins and other nutrients essential for good health must still be taken if the body wants to remain strong.</p>

<p>Eating healthy does not have to be complicated nor difficult.  After you begin making healthy choices, and make it a habit, you don&#8217;t have to think about it again.  Just have healthy food choices always available and the decision will be easy.</p>
<p>When considering a meal or a snack, always strive for a proper balance between a protein, carbohydrate and fat.</p>
<p>Have you determined for yourself your daily caloric consumption needs? I know that for myself if I&#8217;m trying to lose wight, I cannot consume more than 1200 calories per day. On the other hand, if I&#8217;m trying to maintain my current weight, I&#8217;m allow to consumer 1500 calories per day.</p>
<p>After you determine how many calories you should be consuming, you then need to divide the calories out over 5-6 small meals/snacks throughout the day. Don&#8217;t forget to compliment each meal/snack with the proper balance of protein, carbohydrates, and fats. I will give you an example of these choices to make during the day.</p>
<p>I like to take a minute and quickly mention something about portion sizes. Do you know what a serving of meat looks like? No, it&#8217;s not the 12 ounce Ribeye at your local steak house. A protein of meat is 3 ounces, the size of a woman&#8217;s palm.</p>
<p>VISUAL EXAMPLES OF DIFFERENT FOOD PORTIONS:</p>
<p>* 1 medium fruit &#8212; tennis ball or tight fist</p>
<p>* 1/2 cup of rice, pasta, cooked cereal, fruit, or veggie &#8212; cupcake size or tight fist</p>
<p>* 1 cup of salad &#8212; the amount you can hold in two hands cupped together.</p>
<p>* 1 medium baked potato &#8212; computer mouse</p>
<p>* 1 cup of cold cereal &#8212; large handful or tight fist</p>
<p>* 3 ounces of fish, meat or poultry &#8212; deck of cards or a palm of a woman&#8217;s hand</p>
<p>* 1 ounce of cheese &#8212; top half of your thumb or 4 dice</p>
<p>* 1 ounce of fish, meat, chicken or poultry &#8212; 1 egg</p>
<p>* 1 tsp &#8212; the tip of a medium-framed woman&#8217;s thumb. 3 tsp is equal to 1 tbsp</p>
<p>BREAKFAST:</p>
<p>It is important to start the day with a good breakfast. A good breakfast is needed to maintain level blood sugars throughout the morning. Try to keep breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the same calorie count and then add two to three snacks between meals to make up the 5-6 recommended meals.</p>
<p>Choose an item from each of the food groups for a healthy balanced breakfast.</p>
<p>Protein:  1 cup low fat yogurt, 1 oz of low fat cheese, 1 cup nonfat milk, 1 hard boiled egg</p>
<p>Carbohydrate:  1 slice of whole grain toast, bagel or muffin, 1/2 cup of whole grain cereal or oatmeal, or granola bar.</p>
<p>Fruit:  3/4 cup of raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, 1/2 banana, small apple, orange, grapefruit,</p>
<p>LUNCH AND DINNER:</p>
<p>Preparing lunch and dinner is very simple.  Pick a lean protein, add some vegetables and top it off with some fruit for dessert.</p>
<p>Choose an item from each of the food groups for a healthy balanced lunch or dinner.</p>
<p>Protein:  Lean beef, pork, beans, chicken, fish, turkey, etc.</p>
<p>Vegetable:  Cauliflower, green beans, spinach, zucchini, broccoli, and salad greens, etc.  For a serving size, fill about 1/2 of your plate with vegetables,  1/4 of your plate with healthy carbohydrates, and the other quarter with a lean protein.</p>
<p>Carbohydrate:  Brown rice, corn, sweet potatoes, white potatoes, 1 slice of whole grain bread etc.</p>
<p>Dessert:  Pear, apple, 1/2 banana, 1/2 cup of strawberries or raspberries with a dollop of nonfat whipped topping.</p>
<p>SNACKS:</p>
<p>Snacks between meals are what make or break the weight loss.  You need to maintain your metabolism in between meals so that you continue to burn calories throughout the day.  For your snack, consume between 100 to 125 calories.</p>
<p>Choose an item from each of the food groups for a healthy balanced snack.</p>
<p>Protein: 1 oz. low sodium, low fat luncheon meat, low fat string cheese, hard boiled egg, small yogurt cup, 1/4 cup of low fat cottage cheese.</p>
<p>Carbohydrate:  1 slice of whole grain bread, 1/2 banana, apple, grapes, plum, baby carrots, etc.</p>
<p>Healthy fats:  2 tbsp of peanut butter, handful of almonds, walnuts cashews or mixed nuts, 1 slice of avocado.</p>
<p>Doesn&#8217;t this sound easy?  These are just guidelines for healthy foods.  You do not have to eat the same thing every day.  There are so many more foods then what I listed here but be creative. Try a new fruit and vegetable every week. Remember, this is easy!</p>

<p>Studies show that the positive impact against cancer cells is the not only benefit derived from acai berry; acai berry has a great effect on our whole body.</p>
<p>Acai berry is completely loaded with all the vitamins and minerals needed by the human body. It not only has a good proportion of antioxidants, but also contains anthocyanins and that too in a handsome quantity (20 times the quantity present in red wine). It also consists omega 9 fatty acids and omega 6 which are not frequently found in fruits. Unlike other fruit juices, acai berries are very low in calories.
